    Job Description: The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences Dean's Office seeks a Health Professions Advising Coordinator will provide advising and support for aspiring Health Professions students, with a focus on the needs of students who are preparing for professional school entrance exams and the admissions application process.

    The Health Professions Advising Coordinator will provide advising, programming, and support for students who have identified themselves as aspiring Health Professions students. Methods may include (but are not limited to), one-on-one meetings, group advising, and workshops, with a focus on the needs of students who are preparing for required entrance examinations and the professional school application process.

    The person in this position will also work closely with the advisors for Allied Health Professions students in the Office for Academic and Pre-Professional Advising, to develop coordinated/collaborative programming for students who are changing course on their health career pathway. The incumbent will be responsible for the collection, compilation, and analysis of data on the UMBC health professions student population, including acceptance and matriculation rates for applicants. Participation in recruitment events for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions is also expected.

    Minimum Qualifications: 
    Master's degree and five years of experience in Advising, Counseling, Career Services, or related field. Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience advising applicants for medical, dental, optometry, podiatry, and/or veterinary school admission preferred.
