Dr. Patricia Houston, Vice Dean, MD Program, University of Toronto will provide a brief overview of U of T’s Faculty of Medicine’s outstanding medical school and research programs, followed by our keynote speaker, U of T Alumnus Mr. Clive Thompson. U of T’s MD program welcomes students from the US and around the world. Study medicine in a dynamic city, with unparalleled access to research and a breadth of clinical experience. Toronto is among the most diverse cities in the world, and we recognize the importance of diversity in our classroom. Not only does diversity lead to enhanced learning and engagement, but it also supports and elevates the practice of medicine. At the U of T reception after the session, Mr. Thompson will provide the keynote speech on “How Coders are Changing the World.” He is a noted journalist and author, contributing writer to New York Times Magazine and a columnist for Wired. In this talk, alumnus Clive Thompson will discuss the psychology of coders – who does computer programming and why. He will explain how coders think, and how and why they’re reshaping the world in their image. This is an opportunity for prospective students to meet with U of T alumni, senior faculty, and recruitment staff to learn more about U of T. This event welcome prospective students, pre-health advisors to attend. It is Free of Charge.
