    Job Description: The University of Chicago Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) is a dual degree MD/PhD program committed to training the next generation of scholars and leaders in the biomedical sciences by providing students with access to the very best resources of the University of Chicago. Chicago's distinctive interdisciplinary approach encourages students to explore their medical and research interests in the broadest possible terms in medicine, biology, and physical sciences. This is a longstanding and distinguished training program. As such, the success of the MSTP is fundamental to the academic mission of the Biological Sciences Division (BSD). The MSTP is also one of the largest training programs in the BSD with a usual enrollment of ~70 students and over 100 faculty trainers.

    Unit-specific Responsibilities for the Assistant Director of Admissions and Student Affairs for The University of Chicago Medical Scientist Training Program:
    1) Leads all aspects of several 2.5-day interview visits through the annual MSTP admissions season in collaboration with other program faculty and staff.
    2) Leads additional recruitment efforts including but not limited to a focus on underrepresented and under-served student populations in medicine and science. (10% travel)
    3) Leads admissions/recruitment marketing initiatives and enrollment management strategies.
    4) Leads program academic advising sessions in conjunction with the faculty Associate Director of Curriculum (faculty) (e.g., course selection, PI/lab selection).
    5) Assists with tracking students' curricular milestones and overall progress.
    6) Leads co-curricular student programming (e.g., student council, annual retreat, peer mentoring, orientation).
    7) Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

    Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
