    Job Description: The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Academic Advising Center (AAC) at the University of Florida seeks candidates for TWO Lecturers to serve as a Pre-Health Academic Advisor and assist in the delivery of pre-health curriculum. These are full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure accruing, renewable positions starting November 15, 2019.
    As a Lecturer, the candidate will be responsible for:
    * Working with undergraduate students at all levels one-on-one, in groups, and through email to provide guidance through a holistic pre-health preparation process. Specific advising responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: advising students on professional school admission requirements, assisting students with professional development plans, student self-evaluation of professional school competencies and level of competitiveness, evaluation of personal statements, conducting mock interviews and guiding students through the application submission process.
    * Teaching a 1-credit Introduction to Pre-health for UF/CLAS freshmen or sophomores.
    * Developing and teaching one or more additional courses for more advanced pre-health students; the specific direction, focus, and content of the courses can be developed in conjunction and with the approval of the Senior Lecturer for Pre-health curriculum, and in conjunction with the Director of the AAC.
    * Advising undergraduate students in the CLAS Biology major.
    * Planning and participating in various extra-curricular pre-health programs and initiatives, occasionally on evenings or weekends. Examples include: providing support to the pre-health Living Learning Community, Pre-Health Kick-Off, university and community presentations, interacting with health focused student organizations, as well as participation in state, regional and national professional pre-health organizations.
    * As part of the AAC team, this position is also expected to effectively advise undergraduate students in CLAS about academic requirements and policies, as well as students seeking admissions to a CLAS major. This position will also be called upon to participate in various AAC programs and initiatives and to serve as a liaison to other departments and centers in the college and other offices across campus.     Minimum Qualifications: 
    * A Master’s Degree is required
    * Previous experience working with pre-health students and programs
    * Previous experience working with diverse populations
    * Strong interpersonal skills
    * Strong project management skills and a demonstrated ability to set and keep priorities among competing demands

    Preferred Qualifications:
    A Master’s degree in an appropriate area, along with relevant work experience
