Job DescriptionTo implement Health Professions Program advising activities, services, and processes for an academically and culturally diverse group of undergraduate and recently graduated students who are interested in the health professions (including medical, dental, and veterinary programs).
Minimum Qualifications This is a ladder position with three levels (Advisor, Senior Advisor, and Assistant Director). Applicants with more experience and higher level qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
Experience Advisor:
- 2-4 years of experience in higher education student advising (academic, career development, and/or graduate and professional school planning)
- Understanding of college-level science course sequencing
Senior Advisor:
- 3-6 years of experience in higher education student advising (academic, career development, and/or graduate and professional school planning)
- Minimum 3 years of pre-health advising
- Experience in design and implementation of student programs
Assistant Director:
- 3-6 years of experience in pre-health advising
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement assessment of program outcomes
- Experience in managing budgets and setting financial priorities
- Experience in establishing programmatic and administrative processes and priorities
Education Advisor:
- Bachelor’s degree in the sciences, education, or related field
Senior Advisor:
- Bachelor’s degree in the sciences, education, or related field
Assistant Director:
- Master’s degree in the sciences, higher education, or related field; or a bachelor’s degree in combination with relevant professional experience
