Committee Description

The Research committee supports the NAAHP membership and leadership with data-driven research to improve pre-health advising practices and advising program assessment.

More specifically, the Committee is charged by the Board of Directors (BoD) with investigating, promoting and facilitating research opportunities that will further the body of knowledge related to health professions advising. The Committee brings ideas to the NAAHP BoD for possible action, and participate in promoting the importance of research to our members. Its two most significant contributions include 1) the creation, administration, and analysis of an annual membership survey that collects data for the BoD and NAAHP committees and 2) running the national research grant award.

How to Get Involved

Our Committee consists of advisors with a strong interest in research. Previous (qualitative or quantitative) research experience is helpful. We seek to represent all four NAAHP regions (e.g. two members from each of the Regional Associations)
