Charity & Service

We take the health and safety of NAAHP members very seriously.  This year’s in-person meeting will follow the National CDC and Local Health/Safety Guidelines in place at the time of the meeting.

NAAHP-2022 Charity Recipient & Charity Event

NAAHP’s charity recipient for 2022 is Envision : You, a Denver-area, non-profit organization that seeks to close gaps in behavioral health outcomes for LGBTQ+ individuals through co-created community programming, advocacy engagement, public awareness campaigns, and evidence-based trainin

While opportunities will be available throughout the entire conference to DONATE, our Charity Event will take place as part of a fantastic NAAHP Family Game Night on June 17.

The NAAHP Family Game Night will feature multiple games, drawings, and giveaways, followed by an immersive, engaging game of Team-Trivia with our special guest host: Jed Feiman. But the evening is more than trivia, there is something for everyone! Prize Drawings and other games will be scattered throughout the event so plan to have some serious NAAHP fun!

Find a team at the conference; select a team name, wear costumes, and have a blast during the event. Team sign-up will be available on-site in the Registration area Tuesday pm through Thursday 6 pm.

All Donations and Drawing Tickets plus $1 of every purchase at the Cash Bar during the evening will be donated directly to Envision : You.

NAAHP-2022 Service Project

For this years’ service project, NAAHP has partnered with the Denver Rescue Mission (DRM), which helps restore the lives of people experiencing homelessness and addiction through emergency services, rehabilitation, transitional programs, and community outreach.

We have two opportunities for conference attendees to volunteer!

1. The first is a hygiene item drive with specified items divided by regions (see below). At the registration tables, there will be large bins for each region where attendees can drop off their items. On Saturday, June 18, 2022, attendees are asked to drop-in and help assemble the care packages throughout the day. NAAHP’s goal is to put together 300 complete hygiene care packages at the end of the day.

DRM is requesting regular-sized items as opposed to travel size. The good news for those of us who are limited by carry-on restrictions, there are both a Target and Walgreens a few blocks from the hotel. By region, here is what we are collecting:

    • CAAHP – disposable razors, shaving cream, and hand sanitizer
    • NEAAHP – toothpaste, toothbrushes, and hand sanitizer
    • SAAHP – bar soap, deodorant, and hand sanitizer
    • WAAHP – combs/brushes, shampoo, and hand sanitizer
    • NATIONAL (non-region affiliated) – Any of the above items

2. The second DRM opportunity is volunteering to serve breakfast on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the Lawrence Street Community Center. DRM needs 10 volunteers to be at the Lawrence St. site from 6:15 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. (Perfect for those East Coasters on an earlier internal clock!)

There are still a few volunteer spots to fill and a few back-up volunteers needed so please contact Carey Hilbert ( if you wish to volunteer. If we still have slots open at the conference, there will be a sheet at Registration on both Tuesday & Wednesday, June 14 & 15.

Please check the National CDC and Local Health/Safety Guidelines in place at the time of the DRM breakfast.

Thank you for making a difference in our host city!
