NAAHP-Leads Program Mission and Values:

The National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions (NAAHP) is committed to developing ethical, compassionate, and servant leaders. To that end, NAAHP is proud to offer NAAHP-Leads, a premier leadership development program for pre-health advisors. NAAHP-Leads aims to develop enlightened, progressive, adaptable, and competent leaders that ensure vitality, sustainability, and the relevance of the pre-health advising profession and leadership within NAAHP and regional organizations.

To meet the mission, NAAHP-Leads provides multiple leadership tracks for NAAHP members:

The National & Regional Leadership (NRL) Track focuses on preparing future national and regional leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in their advising position, on their campus and in both the regional and national associations.

NAAHP-Leads also offers the Applied Leadership in Higher Education (ALHE) Track focusing on an Academic Leadership track with a curriculum designed to strengthen members' knowledge and skills in areas necessary for success in academic leadership.

NATIONAL & REGIONAL LEADERSHIP (NRL) TRACK:

THE NRL 2025-2026 COHORT APPLICATION PROCESS

NAAHP-Leads will follow a cohort model that runs September through May of the following year. Classes will meet on the second Thursday of every month, from 2-4pm EST, beginning on Thursday, September 11, 2025. The course will be facilitated through a learning management system with some synchronous and asynchronous work. Participants should prepare to be engaged with NAAHP-Leads between 5-6 hours a month for pre-work, class time and assignments. Participants should also expect to develop a capstone portfolio project that they will work on during the course. The project will be due in early June 2026.

APPLIED LEADERSHIP IN HIGHER EDUCATION (ALHE) TRACK:

THE ALHE 2025-2026 COHORT APPLICATION PROCESS

The NAAHP-Leads Applied Leadership in Higher Education program will follow a cohort model that runs from September through May, with an optional second year focused on applying what you learned in the program on a project for your home institution. The curriculum will be facilitated through both synchronous and asynchronous work. Leads Scholars can expect to engage in approximately 7-8 hours of work each month. Every other Friday of each month (1-3 pm EST) beginning September 12, 2025, scholars will participate in synchronous meetings/lectures/activities. The other 3-4 hours will be spent working on asynchronous pre-work, assignments and/or a portfolio project. Post-work will be focused on applying course content specifically to analyzing/critiquing your home institution.
