    Duties and Responsibilities

    Program Management (55%)

    • Oversee and supervise all aspects of the Medical School Interview Program
    • Work with and supervise team members with interview program responsibilities
    • Oversee interview day logistics and content of the day
    • Recruit faculty, community, staff, and student interviewers
    • Project development and space negotiation with Interprofessional Education and Resources Center ()
    • Selection and development of interview station scenarios
    • Technology associated with the execution of the program
    • Serve as key point of contact for all interviewers regarding scheduling of interviews, reminder communications, and additional communications
    • Develop an effective interview training program
    • Analyze feedback and implement appropriate improvements
    • In conjunction with the Associate Dean for Admissions, work with the application review process for the four-year MD program, including application file review, and facilitate an effective and efficient admissions process
    • Develop admissions policies and procedures in conjunction with Associate Dean for Admissions, such as records retention policy, deferment policy, certification statement, and scholarship consideration review process
    • Oversee the admissions website and work in conjunction with the Duluth campus to ensure accurate information is on the website representing both campuses
    • Oversee the Admissions Executive Committee administrative process, and serve as an ex officio member

    Recruitment (35%)

    • Develop and implement local and national recruitment plan requiring travel 5-8 times per year
    • Oversee relationships with premedical advising community locally and nationally
    • Direct the planning and implementation of admissions related recruitment events (fairs, prospective student visits, school visits, webinars, video projects, etc.)
    • Work collaboratively with the Office of Communications to update all recruitment materials (print and web)
    • Provide revisions to information and statistics published in annual surveys (MSAR), on the web and through other media.
    • Work collaboratively with the Office of Admissions Pipeline Programs, Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity, MD/Ph.D. program, and the Duluth campus MD program to execute their admissions and recruitment efforts as needed.
    • Serve as a contact for prospective applicants
    • Devise means to provide advising and application process information to prospective applicants
    • Oversee the development of new recruitment initiatives aimed at attracting candidates from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in medicine and lower socioeconomic backgrounds
    • Oversee the review of recruitment scholarships and distribution process
    • Serve on the Medical School Office of Financial Aid Scholarship Committee Work in conjunction with the Director of Student Affairs to develop and update the Entering Class Student website, including updating of important dates and current student profiles
    • Verify completion of prerequisite courses for all accepted applicants and conduct final degree audits of all incoming students.
    • Oversee calls from leadership for applicants with multiple acceptances on an annual basis.
    • Oversee the processing and review of criminal background checks, including verification and screening, conducted by Certiphi Screening Services for all incoming students.

    Other Duties (10%)

    • Oversee the acknowledgment and compliance with AAMC related policies and regulations (participation agreements, reference surveys)
    • Supervise one or two FTE Provide general oversight of the Office of Admissions operations
    • Serve as a liaison to the Pre-Health Student Resource Center
    • Serve on the AHC Director of Student Services and Admissions and the AHC Admissions & Recruitment Functional Groups
    • Review application files for applicants applying to the Office of Admissions BA/MD program and serve as an interviewer for the program
    • Develop and facilitate interview activity exploring diversity and inclusion with applicants
    • Serve on the Office of Medical Education Strategic Plan aimed at Diversity & Inclusion.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • BA/BS
    • Eight years of experience in higher education, student affairs, admissions or related field
    • Supervision experience of full-time employees
    • Strong knowledge of health professions student development and academic programming
    • Ability to work with diverse populations and demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to socio-ethnic and cultural communication styles
    • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently while meeting required deadlines.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Masters degree (or higher) strongly preferred
    • 1-2 years of experience in a medical school
    • Working knowledge of university and college academic policies, financial aid policies, academic records, medical school entrance procedures, and available student resources
    • Thorough understanding of medical education issues as they apply to the recruitment and selection of students
